About Project

Thanka Inn Gokyo is a thoughtfully designed mountain lodge perched on the shores of Gokyo Lake at approximately 4,700 m elevation in Khumjung, Nepal. Spanning nearly 5,000 sq ft over two floors, the lodge caters to trekkers and high-altitude travelers. With 15 cozy guest rooms featuring double‑glazed windows, fireplaces, and private balconies facing the turquoise lake, the inn balances rustic charm and Himalayan luxury. 

The facility includes a sunny dining room and terrace that offer panoramic lake views, a communal coffee lounge with library-style seating, and an on-site restaurant serving international and local cuisine. Practical amenities include 24-hour front desk, laundry facilities, reliable Wi‑Fi, and an efficient trash and water management system—key for reducing environmental impact in this fragile alpine region .

Our Approach And Solution

We collaborated closely with local partners to build with double‑glazed windows, solar‑assisted heating, and passive insulation. Interiors were designed for trekkers—spacious dining room, coffee lounge, fireplace, library, and meeting rooms. Operational logistics like guest laundry, ticketing support, and 24‑hour service were included to ensure a seamless mountain lodge experience .
